Sharon Wharton, LCSW
Psychotherapist

I specialize in helping people through difficult times, whether due to a loss or a transition. It is in these times that we feel most afraid, lost, and unsure of the way forward.
We all have what it takes within us to create a beautiful life. Sometimes we just need someone to listen, to identify where we might be telling ourselves a story that limits our happiness, and help us change that story to one that empowers us.
I will help you find the tools and skills within yourself to move forward and create a new life.

I live in Estes Park and provide tele-therapy to residents of Colorado. I work primarily with adults experiencing anxiety, depression and grief.
My counseling style has been shaped by the people who have trusted me to walk with them in their darkest times.
I use techniques from several therapeutic modalities including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Shame Resilience Theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I strongly believe in the importance of developing a foundation of self-compassion, and this is at the heart of my practice. Being kinder to yourself has been shown in research to decrease anxiety and depression, and increase a sense of connection with others. I would be honored to work with you and be part of your transformation.
